Capital One CD Rates
The present Capital One CD Rates were posted on 9/23/09 and are effective as of 10/1/09.
The best rate offered by the Capital One financial organization is on the 4, 5, 7 and 10 year CD’s. They each have an interest rate of 1.49% and an APY of 1.50%. The second best rates are from a group of CD’s that span the maturity terms of 3 years down to 18 months. The interest rate for this group is 1.00% with an APY of 1.01%. The 1 year CD has an interest rate of 0.50% with an APY of 0.50% and the 6 month CD has an interest rate of 0.25% and an APY of 0.25%. Each of these CD’s requiring a minimum of $5,000 deposit.
The rates of these CD’s are locked at the time the funds are received by Capital one. All accounts are opened using Capital One Bank USA.
The jumbo rates of CD’s from Capital One are the same rates as the standard rates. The biggest difference is that $100,000 is required to open a Jumbo CD.
Capital One CD’s accrue interest daily and can be paid out in a variety of ways as long as the maturity date of the CD exceeds 6 months. The pay outs can be monthly, quarterly, semi annually or annually.
If you decide to wire the funds out of your CD from Capital One upon maturity, there is a $20.00 charge.
